Books from Diverse Authors for High School Students

When a teacher wrote an opt-ed article titled "Diversity education is a divisive education" in the Tacoma News Tribune opposing ethnic studies intended to support students to be "global citizens" and appreciate the contributions of diverse cultures, our community responded.

We decided to combat this history teacher’s bad ideas with books filled with good ideas. We launched a fundraiser to buy books from diverse authors on history and celebrate the rich diversity and cultural experiences for students.

In total we raised enough money to purchase 74 new books from the list below to contribute to Wilson High School students and staff. We encourage you to purchase some of these books for your own collection.

Proudly purchased from our good friends at Kings Books.
