The Tacoma Urban League helps build family well-being by intentionally and simultaneously working with children and the adults in their lives together to ensure that children grow-up in a safe, stable home with the resources they need to thrive. Consistent with the belief that parents are children's first and most important teachers, Tacoma Urban League views family engagement and building supportive community as a critical systemic and sustained approach to support healthy child development.
We are committed to ensuring that all children are successful by ensuring youth feel safe and supported with clear opportunities for success and that families have the additional tool and supports they need. Our work is focused on long-term consistent family engagement and targeted interventions during three key life phases: pregnancy and child development, middle school transitions, pathways for young adults.
